John...I had no intention of conveying the impression that they stratfor.com is THE last word on everything. But, to do any DD on stocks we own or wish to own, an over-all world view is a key link. They have also done some very good calls, and certainly seem to have a more neutral view of Kosovo than the pure propaganda that our own media is feeding us. This riles me, as it lowers us to the level of any socialistic/dictator run second-rate country, when the press becomes an organ of the government. On scadals it loves to do its own thing...on foreign relations, our papers seem to always print whatever news releases are summarily handed out. My best friend for many years, since living in the dorm together at Univ of Texas, had a father that had escaped Austria 2 days prior to the German invasion, then worked with our OSS all thru the war. He was head of the Dept of Geography at UT prior to retirement, then went to Washington to continue consuling for the CIA. Stratfor was something he was excited about, consulted some for, etc prior to his death.....so, I appreciate your view, believe we should take all information and do our own processing, but to totally discount it sounds more like sour grapes than an unbiased analyzation, IMHO. Certainly beats listening to Ted Koppel.
