Jens- <AMD startet mit AMD-K7-Mikroprozessor in Dresden Exkursion...>

"Excursion" in the Process Boy world is a "process out of control" event. Couldn't help but chuckle when I read the header. I know this is taking liberty with the translation. :-)

Jens - Re: "A photograph of FAB 30, Dresden:"

The photograph of the AMD Fab operators, with the caption:

"Bildmaterial AMD Saxony Manufacturing GmbH"

shows these operators wearing clean room bunny suits which were obsoleted in the mid to late 1980's.

I find that surprising.

Intel's fab operators all wear bunny suits with helmets, completely sealing their bodies, and use battery powered pumps for pumping air into the sealed helmets, and exhausting through mini HEPA FILTERS, eliminating MAJOR SOURCES of contamination.

The AMD operators were wearing only face/surgical masks.

I think this lack of modern sophistication within AMD's newest fab should be cause for alarm.

Jens: re "AMD startet mit AMD-K7-Mikroprozessor in Dresden
Exkursion"

The proper translation is:

"AMD CEO can't wait to get his mitts on a starlet while visiting the Dresden site of future K-7 microprocessor."

As usual, there is no charge for these highly accurate renditions. - Tad LaFountain
