Though Osha's opinions on DRAM are pretty fishy, his overall take seems reasonably informed. After all, the article says, "Osha is less sanguine on the PC end of the chip market..box-makers are demanding cheaper component prices as they strive to lower costs on PCs...[leaving] Intel (NASDAQ: INTC - Quotes, News, Boards) fighting to maintain profitability, while selling more lower margin Celeron chips." His knee-jerk defense of Intel ("Intel's ability to lower costs on lower capacity chips will enable the industry bellwether to meet its quarterly numbers despite competitive pressures from Advanced Micro Devices") notwithstanding, that's pretty reasonable. -mb

John, First, why is this goof named after the govt. safety dept.? <g> He is out to lunch if he thinks DRAM prices are firming or inventories are declining. The only reason inventories might be declining is because their dollar value is eroding so rapidly.

Man, when they got rid of Kurlak to pick up this guy, I assumed it had to be an upgrade. But he makes Kurlak look like Genius Khan. <g>
