Lehman downgraded to Hold a whole slew of osx issues last Dec2/98--Presume this is a new analyst. If you're new, you have less motivation to start with Buy, particularly when you know the analyst you replaced made the wrong move near the bottom...So you start off with Neutral, hoping for a correction so you can then jump to Buy with a bit of a cushion..if no correction comes and the stocks keep rising, no one will criticize you. But if you had said buy and the stocks sell off, the sales force will quickly write you off. Such is the life of a new analyst.
