Thanks Hiram. I read elsewhere that in addition to using VBI, they are effectively converting CGI- and HTML- based presentation to that of a bit mapped approach. Assuming that this is correct (and I welcome corrections here if I am mistaken) in so doing, they strip off much of the overhead, reducing the transmission capacity requirements on the loop, and launch the content in modified form down the pipe to the user.

Intuitively, I see some drawbacks with this approach, but don't have the time or the head right now to elaborate or investigate what they are in their totality. Would you or anyone else care to enumerate the pluses and minuses to WGAT's approach, given what I have stated, and assuming that this is true? Otherwise, like I said, corrections and other comments are welcome.
