TELLIUM's AURORA 32 OPTICAL CROSS CONNECT RECEIVES 1999
INFOVISION AWARD FROM IEC

Oceanport, NJ, June 14, 1999 Tellium's Aurora 32 optical cross connect
has been chosen to receive the prestigious 1999 InfoVision award from the
International Engineering Consortium. This award recognizes products and
services based on their level of innovation, uniqueness, market impact,
customer benefit and value to society. This award is a testament to our
growing reputation for delivering creative and reliable products that meet
the telecommunications carriers' needs. We are proud the Aurora 32 is
the only optical layer cross connect shipping today, said Richard Barcus,
President, Tellium.

About Aurora 32

The Aurora 32 Optical Cross Connect System is an optical cross-connect
with 32 bidirectional ports. It's primary function is to cross-connect high
speed (up to OC48c) optical signals and is used to perform additional
optical networking tasks such as restoration, dynamic wavelength
management, and network gateway functions. Aurora 32 features multirate
interfaces supporting concatenated and multiplexed SONET signals. The
multirate interfaces are software controlled to support OC-3, OC-12, or
OC48. The system also delivers Automated Optical Path Restoration in
less than 50 msec for protecting optical layer services.

"Our highly skilled engineering team brought this carrier class product to
market in record time. We applaud the IEC for recognizing the value
Aurora 32 brings to customers for switching optical layer services. We are
applying the same principles of reliability, quality, and innovation to our
recently announced Aurora 512." Said Krishna Bala, Manager Cross
Connect Development for Tellium.

"The phenomenal growth in data traffic has driven carriers to deliver high
capacity optical layer services. Tellium's Aurora series of optical cross
connects allow carriers to avoid expensive SONET mux/demux while
delivering intelligent optical layer switching to meet their service needs
today and into the next millennium." Concluded Nicholas DeVito, Director
Marketing and Product Management, Tellium.

About InfoVision Award

Now in its third year, the InfoVision Awards program inherits the rich
history of its predecessor, the ComForum Awards, which recognized
innovative technologies and services within the telecommunications
industry. Past recipients of this exclusive award include Alcatel,
Ameritech, AT&T, Bell Atlantic, Eastman Kodak, GTE Services,
Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Nortel, and many more.

About International Engineering Consortium-IEC

The International Engineering Consortium, established in 1944, is a
non-profit, industry-cooperative, public service organization dedicated to
catalyzing positive change in the information industry and university
community. The Consortium provides high quality education Forums and
offers a variety of industry-university programs. The Consortium also
conducts research and provides publications addressing major
opportunities and challenges of the information age.

About Tellium

Tellium is headquartered in a 67,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in
Oceanport, New Jersey. In 1997, it became the commercial spin-off from
Telcordia (formerly Bellcore), the one-time research arm of the Regional
Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs). Corporate investors include
Telcordia, SAIC, Cisco Systems, and Ortel Corporation, and financial
investors include Oak Investment Partners, Accel Partners, Worldview
Technology Partners and Blue Rock Capital Investors. Tellium's optical
cross connect product, Aurora-32, was the first-to-market in the
telecommunications industry and, along with a larger Aurora-512 is the
cornerstone network element of survivable mesh and ring optical networks.

CSCO my largest holding, pumped up some more on Monday.

Next week's split coupled with an overall positive market could put csco into orbit.

Also getting heavy into wireless telecomm

A great sector. Imo, networking and wireless are the places to be for 1999, particularly as they are rapidly converging. Have you looked at qcom?
