DENVER, June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Medix Resources, Inc. (BB: MDIX) announced today the completion of a comprehensive national executive search for the identification and selection of a Chief Operating Officer/ Chief Information Officer for its wholly owned subsidiary, Cymedix Lynx Corporation (Cymedix). The recruitment campaign, launched in January, introduced a series of highly qualified candidates to effectively lead the operational and technological development of the Internet based healthcare communications subsidiary. After an extensive interview process senior management and the Board of Directors unanimously approved David Pfeil for appointment to the position. David will also serve as the Chief Operating Office/Chief Information Officer of the subsidiary. John Yeros, CEO and Chairman of Medix commented, "Cymedix is at the technological cutting edge of development in an extraordinarily dynamic industry. The focus of healthcare and the financial markets is concentrated on the direction and results of those corporations competing within this narrow arena." "Medix has made the commitment to remain at the market forefront through continued technological execution. Essential to the fulfillment of that commitment was the recruitment of a technological innovator capable of propelling development beyond existing boundaries. We have found those rare characteristics in David Pfeil. I am excited about bringing him into our corporation. He adds extraordinary intelligence, technical expertise, energy, business skills and leadership to our developing management team at Cymedix." Mr. Pfeil's technical education originated with his admission to community college courses while in 8th grade. He graduated Valedictorian from Lehigh University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota after receiving a full fellowship through a research grant from IBM. David Pfeil, at 40 years of age, commands nearly 20 years of senior management experience in healthcare automation and information systems. In 1981, at 21 years of age, David founded Dezine Healthcare Solutions (Dezine), a software company with separate divisions for healthcare and engineering design. Dezine's incorporation coincided with the introduction of IBM PCs and the Microsoft BASIC compiler. Anticipating their potential impact on healthcare, David steered Dezine towards specialization in PC based software. Dezine ultimately refined its focus to concentrate resources on software devoted to segments of the expanding home healthcare marketplace, capturing nearly 40% of the market share in the home medical equipment industry segment. David successfully completed the sale of Dezine to Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina in 1997 and organized Arrow Professional Enterprises (Arrow), a health care automation consulting company. Arrow provides health care professionals with technical expertise in evaluating and implementing information systems and strategies. In accepting the position as COO/CIO of Cymedix, David stated "I am excited about the opportunities to integrate disparate healthcare information systems utilizing the Internet and the technology that Cymedix has to offer. The ability of Cymedix's software to non invasively interface a with physician's practice management systems and create an encrypted Internet message shows a substantial product offering. Our first goal will be to enhance the number of existing healthcare legacy applications already capable of interfacing with the current Cymedix Host product while leveraging new Application Server Provider (ASP) Internet technology. I have monitored the growth of the Internet utilization, the availability of greater connection bandwidth, as well as the Internet's potential to unite healthcare information systems, and I believe now is the time to fully implement those systems."
