Another reason this will not happen is that it could expose the participants to antitrust prosecution. <Imagine what would happen if the producers announced a meeting in which they were going to explore removing all gold produced above 250.00 an ounce from the market...> What you describe is an organized plan to restrict supply to a market in concert, with the manifest intention of raising the price of their product. Try and get this proposal approved by antitrust counsel...not gonna happen. John
