Gene -- the problem with AGs water is that he can do little more than a single 1/4 point rise on the basis of this data -- there is no trend. A 1/4 point move is nothing more than trimming the sails. I don't think the market fears that one bit. Today's data was virtually all soft -- or at least non-confirming of a trend, which was the real risk because a rising interest trend was not yet priced into the market. Absent this we are in for a real run-up in stock prices as people have increasingly held off on taking action until today's release of fresh information.
