Every time I've seen this type of thing happen, you get a mailing a couple weeks later asking you to send in your stock certificates (which you'll probably need to get), and eventually you get a check...the whole process can take a month or two.

And don't forget or assume it is taken care of automatically, or your proceeds may end up in your state's "unclaimed property" pool, believe it or not!
