SmartStockAdvisor.com Report: General Report One of our main questions while visiting Microphonics was the status of their financial reporting. This has been a concern to all investors, including SmartStockAdvisor.com. Within the next twenty-four hours we will post a detailed summary of the causes for past delays and the steps the company is taking to ensure that its financial house is in order. More importantly, Microphonics' 1998 and 1st quarter 1999 unaudited financials will be made public early next week for all shareholders' information. They will also be put up on the new Microphonics website, debuting in the next few days. As stated in Wednesday's post, the entire staff of Microphonics was eager to get the complete story out. They know what a great product they have and where the company is going. While the road has been bumpy, it appears the rewards may be considerable. Their customer list is turning into a who's who of international industry. Word of mouth is quickly spreading from one premier corporate entity to the next. And rightly so. In the words of Myles Izakoff and Bud Thorpe, two of Microphonics' key employees, the Microphonics' 111R has consistently outperformed prospective customer's expectations. A quick trip through a plant with the 111R might reveal a host of maintenance needs. Throw a parabolic dish on the 111R and the walk becomes shortened, as this increases the range well past the length of a football field. Sales calls are simple. Turn the 111R on and let it do the work. A bearing worn, pitted, or in need of lubrication; a frozen valve, a shaft out of alignment, a gas leak or an electrical short are just a small example of some problems detected on initial sales calls. As one might imagine, grateful prospects instantly become enthusiastic buyers. Many of these customers were glad to share their experiences with us. Product Support International, a distributor of Microphonics' products, recently did a demo at an asphalt plant. While there, a significant natural gas leak was detected in a storage tank. To say the least, that made the sale easier. There are 10,400 asphalt plants worldwide, 4400 of which are in the U.S. We will be posting testimonials once proper authorization is given. It is clear that the products save companies significant amounts of money. Machinery downtime in a production line can be very costly in many ways, and accidents are something everyone would like to avoid. Now manufacturers are offered an accurate means of predicting failure without having to shut down production. Remedies and repairs can be scheduled when least disruptive, versus acting on a crisis. How reliable is the 111R? Over a four year period, maybe 20 units have been sent in for service, and most as a result of customer damage. How superior is the 111R? We already know who some of their customers are. But the fact that they have never lost a contract to a competitor speaks volumes. The 111R is considered twice as good at half the price. What customers really love about the Microphonics 111R units is the proprietary noise filtering software that presents the user with a totally quiet and static free background which makes it far easier to detect the problems that they are focusing on. Nobody else has this capability. Not only was Microphonics featured in The Nashville Business Journal on several occasions; amcity.com , the most recent being on the front cover, but numerous racing publications as well. Winston Cup Scene, Trackside, Race Car Engineering, Nashville Automotive Report. Their products are highly regarded in that arena. Once again, flaws were precisely diagnosed with car # 94 at the most recent running of the Michigan 400. This involvement has proven to be sheer marketing genius by Jimmy. The relationships with the major automobile and parts manufacturers as well as many other industry leaders are either seeded or nourished from Microphonics' participation in racing. SmartStockAdvisor.com, comprised of 5 individual investors, went to Nashville with the same guarded optimism as any investor should have. As each day passed, our investment in Microphonics appeared to be a much wiser one. We only wish that all investors had the opportunity to visit with Jimmy and the gang and they do extend an open invitation to any and all shareholders to do just that. In the meantime, watch for more details of our visit. Disclaimer: SmartStockAdvisor. com is a compensated agent of Microphonics,Inc. as of May 18,1999.
