Wow, that's pretty poor DSL pricing, Spots. I'm sure it'll make you feel better to hear that US West just dropped the pricing on our 256K (which is often faster that that) to $48 total. Whoops, perhaps that falls under the "rubbing it in" category. :) It is auto-sensing. And I can hardly rationalize it as a "need" for use here, but at around the pricing of a switching hub, I figured why not. And like you, 5 was a nicer number for me. The 4 port fast hub I was using most of the time left me short one port sometimes.
