I haven't read the book you reccomend and, don't intend to. I would like to point out that a number of presidents have made use of the dubious resources of the mafia. FDR, revered by many people who are not aware of his many devious schemes, used the mafia extensively in WW2 in Europe and especially in the Italian campaign.

BTW, who is the author of this book.
