Media Metrix Ranks Juno Among Top 10 in User Loyalty; Juno Leads Microsoft Network, Netscape and Prodigy

BusinessWire, Wednesday, June 16, 1999 at 08:10

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1999--Juno Online Services,
Inc. (NASDAQ:JWEB) announced today that its Internet service has
received a top rating in a Media Metrix Top 10 Digital Media and Web
Site Loyalty ranking for the month of April. According to Media Metrix
(NASDAQ:MMXI), a leader and pioneer in Internet and digital media
measurement, Juno's Internet service placed seventh in "loyalty," a
measure of how frequently users return to a particular Web site or
application during a month. Only certain Web destinations and
applications controlled by America Online and PointCast scored higher
in the Media Metrix survey, with Juno outflanking all other sites and
services, including Microsoft Network, Netscape and Prodigy.
"Media Metrix's report on Juno users' loyalty demonstrates our
leadership role as an access provider for the everyday user," said
Charles Ardai, Juno's president. "Juno is an easy, reliable path onto
the Internet that not only attracts users, but offers them the
day-to-day functions they need to keep returning to the service."
Juno, which has over 6.8 million accounts, offers multiple levels
of Internet service, with three service options including Juno(R)
basic e-mail; Juno Gold(SM), enhanced e-mail with file attachments;
and Juno Web(SM), full Internet access.
The Media Metrix findings are based on "Average Usage Days,"
defined as the average number of days a person returns to a Web site,
channel or application within a month. The study defines Digital Media
as the Web, proprietary online services, and/or other ad-supported
digital applications such as e-mail services and CD-ROMs. Thirty-two
percent of the top 50 sites ranked in the loyalty study are online
proprietary services, including Juno.
