It seems once investors see a pattern emerging such an earnings run-up on good companies---the approach (i believe) is to get in before the next guy and that may be happening very soon(or even now). In the case of MSFT, the April run-up got cut short only due to the stock split run-up by the end of March.

BTW-I was disappointed with my Dell options last November and decided against taking big gambles on that one. However, last year when there were market declines in July/August---i was very heavily into Dell options and August turned out to be a good month. Once a company disappoints, I have a tendency to stay away from them (at least in options) as those are not good candidates for buying leading to earnigs. Still might hold some trading shares.
