Absolutely. Puts in the money push stocks up as expiration closes because as people close puts, the market maker who wrote the put closes out his corresponding short position. That's one reason I am long "nuts" right now. Also a large option postion tends to exagerate any moves in either direction until they get closed. Thus due to a large OEX option position we should see a strong continuation upwards to the close today.

Re: tees. I agree, push Bob back to the blues or further. On the course with 6 tees I played from the Gold tees and played unusually well and managed a 94. Those extra 50-70 yards a hole make a big difference.

re petition for back tees

I agree!

Also, the difference between playing a sport on your "home court" with a few buddies and in front of "spectators" on foreign courts is really a test of mettle. I remember my first experience playing varsity tennis in high school and the first bus trip to my first match...NOBODY EVER saw me so quiet or so white... 8)

Golf is MUCH more mental than tennis so I would imagine the effect would be more intense. I did play in a golf league and had the highest handicap so I could play with good golfers and get a trophy even with a double bogey game. When it came down to match play after the "season" and I went up against a 3 handicapper, I completely fell apart... It is a VERY tough mental game. This also is why it is such good humor to hear Brinker worry the nervous nellies about his retiring to the pro tour. 8)
