msft has enough of an monopoly without trying for memory. the feds would drool for that law suit. intel, the same. the chip makers , maybe. s.steel , hey , he's got 5% now. a factor. the main reason is that they are a strictly intellectual property co. if you try a hostile takeover the brains leave and you have nada. rmbs is unique in many ways. ( intel does own some i think,) to don green: don't get me started on the big brokers analysts. they are the kings of pump and dump. 3 weeks before rumors of interest rate hikes they were pumping bank stocks and each others brokerages( hows that for b#lls). the rumors hit , the banks and brokers sold off and they cried all the way to the bank. i don't believe in the tooth fairy either.

WHY, hasn't it been bought out ... ?
If you read the prospectus, there are provisions (too complicated for me to remember) which makes it very difficult for anyone, except perhaps Intel, to buy the company.
