Access Power Adds Hawaii, Alaska andCanada to its Worldwide Net.Caller Internet Phone Service Network
June 16, 1999 03:50 PM
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 16, 1999--Internet calling with Access Power Inc. ACCR is going north and south as the company expands its Net.Caller(tm) service borders to include Hawaii, Alaska and Canada.

"Internet phone service is a growing piece of the global communications market and will become a significant player in the future -- especially with the growing popularity of high-speed connections that increase the quality of Internet phone service," Glenn Smith, chairman and chief executive officer for Access Power, said.

"We are positioning ourselves to become the service provider of choice by providing a low-cost Internet phone service, continually improving service quality and by looking for expansion opportunities. We are excited to now include Hawaii, Alaska and Canada to our Net.Caller(tm) service area," Smith said.

Net.Caller(tm) allows callers to place unlimited calls using their multimedia PC and Internet connection to any regular telephone -- anywhere in the continental U.S. and now Hawaii, Alaska and Canada -- for a flat-rate service fee of $10 per month. Smith said this is unique to the industry where most providers charge by the minute. "We are linking computer technology and the Internet with telephone service to offer substantial savings compared to traditional long-distance phone service," Smith said.

"The Internet is changing the way the world communicates as more people have Internet access. While Internet phone service is a relatively new industry, we are one of the oldest established Internet phone service providers. We hope to combine our expertise with a worldwide Net.Caller(tm) network to bring the future a little closer. Adding Hawaii, Alaska and Canada is just the first step," Smith said.

Access Power Inc. is a pioneer service provider of Internet phone service. The company offers Internet-based phone-to-phone service, software that allows free PC-to-PC calling and low-rate PC-to-phone calling from anywhere in the world to anywhere in the U.S.
