MB,

The RMBS board thinks this is positive as it starts the RDRAM roll out slowly and then the upgraded speeds are pushed out. They think it is a good marketing strategy. Also, the better yields at 600 mhz will cost less, I suppose, and will help to drive sales assuming price matters. Then as yields improve, the 700 and 800 pieces come out, and on goes the process...

But if Samsung reports the OEM's are not interested in the 600 then who is buying? But perhaps this is Samsung tooting it's own horn!? Guess who will probably have the 700 and 800 mhz RDRAM to market fastest and at the best yields? Samsung I would bet.

JMTC's,

MileHigh

To All, And the beat goes on.

1. Very odorous estimated trade deficit report this morning. Last month was an all time high of $18.95 billion. This month they are estimating $18.94 billion. Give me a break! 18.95 to 18.94. Since the govt. has decided to fake economic numbers to the bullish side, they ought to at least not take us all for fools. C'mon guys, make the fake improvement one we can believe really happened, not one you get from forcing some clerk to round down. <g> prodigy-news.excite.com

2. Compaq warns. No surprise, though their 15 cents loss estimate would have gotten bears laughed off of SI 18 months ago. Can't happen because they have "sistems in place." <g>

3. Western Digaditch warns. Oh, yeah, this pc area is hot, hot, not. <g>
