At some point in the next few weeks we are going to get a nice press release by Intel declaring the exact date for Camino shipments. In that release Intel will set the roadmap for the next stages of its master plan. At that point Rambus will become "real" for a lot of people and earnings estimates for Rambus will be upped, and the stock should pop. Profit takers will then step in (just joshing you, Don) and sell for a nice short term gain. However, the news in the days and weeks which follow will just be better and better. The shorts will make a tactical decision to exit (if they have not already by then) and then the focus, forevermore, will be on earnings, earnings, earnings....just like regular stock.

vision,
i just don't feel confident answering that kind of question, but i'll try.
how about this scenario?

when the rmbs bid hits 90, don declares himself the winner, buys back the shares he sold at 80 driving the price to 100.
the shorts completely panic. the momo traders jump in and 3 days later we are at 150.
then intel announces the chipset is shipping and mark edel...
issues a new target of 295.
we hit that at christmas and milehigh owes me a beer and reh owes me a bottle of champagne.
