I'll take it one way or the other, or preferably both. If digital VCR becomes big, they argue for four platter drives whether in the computer or PC. Personlly, I think you'll see both means in the near term assuming the VCRs come down to a price point where you don't get a whole computer for free. And don't forget the inclusion of drives in set top boxes. Not everyone has a new high capacity computer next to the TV.
My point is that if the concept takes off, the method of implementation is secondary. -Z

Naw. You aren't thinking here. We are getting to a price per mb point where there isn't any purpose in centralizing storage in the household. How many semiconductors are in your home, car, office today? That is how many disk drives may be there someday IMO.
