E My wife and I feverishly debated why to own AOL. The content issue emerges each time. They are an enigma when it comes to what they have accomplished. But is that going to make money at the rate fast enough to warrant the price? We bought and have traded AOL with complete confidence. our basic assumption was that AOL would be utilized by everyone 'jumping' into the net. Their first tricycle. What happens when the training wheels are thrown away? As just mentioned above, this is/was/is a momentum play. I question how many 'investors' were really shaken up by this last month. I sure was. But I won.How many managers/individuals are going to watch this rise again and say "this time I'll just hold it" That is severely going to limit the rise of this stock. Many of us came to the realization that this is very serious business and has, to my regret, become somewhat of a war. Cramer's manic comments, Ableson and Barron's manipulations, MM's doing whatever they do (Satan looks like Ghandi in comparison), CNBC assaulting our intelligence, shorts vs longs, 'plants' on the threads, analysts, as Vendit said, tell us it's going to 200 but don't buy now. There was a fund manager onCNNFN yesterday who said to buy IBM because it earns $3. Why buy AOL with that PE? Then asked what he held in his portfolio he says AOL but "I bought it cheaper." This is too much for the average slob in the street, like myself, to sort out. Why are so many of us constantly reassuring ourselves on these boards? If it is such a sure investment, then we should do what gramps did and look in the Sunday paper to see what happened that week. I have learned an immense amount from the info shared here. But I probably would have enjoyed myself a bit more peeking in the Sunday Times. This is one serious investor who is pooped. Like it or not, this has become a traders stock. And after all this work I still don't know what to do about AOL. Fruit of the Loom shares took it in the shorts today. Maybe there is a discussion board somewhere to figure out why.... Peace Craig
