Nor is there a chance of linux splintering, the GPL insures that anything released under the GPL will be available to ALL users.

It's my understanding that some KDE applications will run under Caldera OpenLinux's iteration of KDE but not under Red Hat Linux's KDE, and vice versa. This is what I meant by "will linux splinter apart?"

We already have Metrowerks CodeWarrior for RED HAT Linux, which is a commercial product that is only marketed for (and guaranteed to run under) Red Hat Linux.

Dear Jerry, I've used Linux for over six years and Redhat for most of that time. In the begining I used to buy new release of Redhat on Bob Youngs kitchen table. As I've known the man and as I know Linux, Redhat, Suse, Caldera, and Slackware, Your comments are in my opinion 100% on.
