If what you say is correct about DIVX chips, we might look at how much sales these have been generating. I'd hazard to guess that the reason they are putting DIVX to death is low sales in the first place!

...so, sounds like going from next-to-nothing to nothing. A six percent drop?

DIVX was put to death today. It appears that ATML manufactures 1 chip used in DIVX players. I wouldn't expect that to be a big deal.
