Shell, for the last 8-9 years has been in a mode of selling off their smaller, non-core properties. Sometimes at give-away prices. One instance was a sale of a pipeline and compression unit to Solex, just south of Waterton. Another example was a sale of assets to Poco in northern BC. (I never heard how much cash traded hands)
There are deals out there, how to land them is another question. Shell had a sulphur block equipment and facilities for sale on-line @ bill Wigely's Auction...
hope this helps.

Shell is planning on selling it's western Canada conventional oil properties. There have already been layoffs and retirements with more to come as the properties are sold. The preference would be to sell to one company rather than piecemeal. That's all I know.

Double check my newsletter issued yesterday. I believe there were short comments mentioned on the subject. One of the areas mentioned (I think) was the Midale area in Saskatchewan.

The guy that has a great relationship with Shell is Mike Rose of Berkley Petroleum. Wouldn't be surprised to see them acquiring something from Shell.
