I think that this Wedcasting idea will be a huge hit and Ampex will have to open new studios around the world (maybe even in Malls) to video all those beautiful brides.....Speaking as a woman to this mostly male thread....this gets to the heart of the bridal industry. It's the biggest 'fantasy camp' going! Everything is perfect, everyone looks beautiful, the music swells, the blemishes are all removed and it can be replayed forever, even if your life-after-wedding sucks. Plus, you can reach a billion others just like you (those who prefer reading about TV stars' lives and fantasizing that you have such a glamorous life too) and if you feel reality closing in, you share can each other's wedcasts and get that warm cuddly feeling all over again. All those relatives that you couldn't invite to a live wedding can participate in the wedcast and they will still send you a toaster. They don't feel left out and you don't have to feed them all! It also eliminates all that in-law bickering that can go on for eternity about who did or didn't get invited and which table they sat at. Even though this is an area of female fulfillment that I've never understood (we opted for the $50 city hall lunchtime special), most women I have met are ardent wedofiles, if not for themselves, then for their daughters. They spend thousands and plan for a year for one 'perfect' day. And, I should not exclude men from wanting this big, expensive, special event; they like all the attention/ritual too. Even those who opt for a wedding chapel in Reno will want a wedcast of themselves getting married by Elvis. I'm not trying to say anything negative to/about the two talented people getting married in this upcoming wedcast. What they have planned sounds very nice and I like the cultural blending involved. It will be a perfect introduction to the world for a whole new wedding industry. Besides the wedding photos, now everyone must have the wedcast. Even though I poke fun at this institution, don't underestimate the wedding spell. As for broadcasting the honeymoon results, how long does that last? A few hours at most if the couple isn't too drunk or tired! The real money is in the buildup to the actual event. Fantasy is always better than reality, and lasts much longer, and in this case can be replayed infinitly. As you know, for women, foreplay is much more important than play itself. This will probably evolve into a planning-the-best-weddingcast that could go on for a year before the actual event. Talk about foreplay! I just hope that they don't decide to start funeralcasting or birthcasting (probably already been done). Still long on AXC and Kicking Myself for not having moola to buy more when it was so cheap! Always lurking, CMM Going to the chapel and we're gonna get married..... Bells will ring woo woo woo....
