A liberal's view of BUSH LITE:
1) It isn't that he's wishy-washy - in fact his "positions" don't appear to spring from convictions at all - because I don't think he has much substance in that department. GWB with fire in the belly? Hah! Not!
2) Why does he want to be president? I have yet to hear one plausible word from him. It makes me chuckle to watch you whigs contort yourselves into "explanations" of his inability to say what he stands for. Hello! He is not running to pursue an agenda. He wants to be President because he wants to be President, finis!
3) Is this Texas' answer to J. Danforth Quale's microcephaly? Maybe Gore is no genius, but come, on, guys, can you really see Georgie Bushlite fisticuffing it successfully behind a debater's lectern? I bet the thought makes you guys bloody nervous!
4) He has little government experience and virtually no legislative background. And he's not a lawyer, so he can't even fall back on knowledge of law or the Constitution. By the way, what IS his educational background? Yeah, Yale - but what did he DO there? BTW, Hillary went there, too, but actually did something during law school. I'll bet GW gets hammered less by the press during his run than she does during hers and yet still fares worse than she does.
5) Has he ever had a single thought cross his frontal lobes about foreign policy? Say, tell me, in the 60's and '70s while a lot of us were engaged with political activism (right or left) was THAT the period he was getting polluted every night and running around? (Can you say "the right's insistence on personal moral rectitude will come back to haunt them in the 2000 election"?)...
6) Don't forget - his father was so beloved by voters that they threw him out of office. Do you really want to attempt to resuscitate this dynastic corpse?
7) I'll admit that the conservative field leaves much to be desired, with the possible exception of John McCain (hey, why not host a battle of the two Vietnam Vets!), but in spite of that you guys can certainly still do a lot better than GW, IMHO...
8) That he has beaucoups bucks more than his brothers (and that laughable sister) in the party seems a shabbily insufficient reason to run him as your best hope to lead the country.

No, I think you guys better rethink this sloppy option - it's not going to work out for you, of this I am fairly certain. Regards, SW
