Seems my own broker did the dirty deed and bought my shares.

I suggest you call the brokerage firm and tell them you intend on lodging a complaint with the appropriate Securities Commission! The only person that can see your stop is your brokerage firm, therefore, the cross may have been purposely done, becuase yours and many other stops may have made it worth their while.

Just be subtle, suggest that you don't like the way it was done, and you would like them to "revisit the issue" before you consider on seeking asistance of the OSC if Ontario, BCSC if BC, or ASC if Alberta

Ellie call the relevant securities exchange and log a complaint. That is illegal and goes against their Conduct and Practices Code!
