Casaubon: That is a hard one to answer. It depends more on the previous price action of the stock. However, if it were going to fill the gap, the strongest resistance would be at the point of the break. (The low of the day prior to the gap.)

But, if I were playing a gap down to unload a loosing long position or initiate additional shorts, I would not wait for the gap to be completely filled, unless I was expecting the gap to be filled in the process of a reversal.

Don't be greedy...
