Slimy okra. One of nature's nastiest foods to me. My dad loves it boiled. Yuk. And he cans it with tomatoes and does goodness knows what with it. Fried up is the way to go. Along with a mess of fried yellow squash, some fried potatoes, a pot of the 'bean of the day' and a pone of corn bread.

I love boiled okra, slimy, slimy, okra. Better with onions and tomatoes. Fried eggplant is good if you degorge it first (sprinkle the slices liberally with salt, and stack them with paper towels in between, and put a weight on top.
