Yes. Wow!!! I don't know if this will have an immediate impact on our stock price (could very well go down with some people not knowing the impact of this announcement and pondering the specter of this moving QWST closer to buying an RBOC). Nor do I know if this is a deal closer for FRO. But, this is starting to make a whole lot of sense. Maybe some of the fools on the Yahoo board will stop dragging Joe through the mud. The man knows what he's doing, period. A few ramblings... 1) Hmmm...looks like those strategic partnerships (Cisco)that Joe has touted are paying off 2) Isn't some little company called LVLT trying to build an end to end IP network. Excellent idea on paper. When we will see that completed? I like the prospects of QWST's end-to-end IP network with 20 mil. + USW local customers + potential of millions of BLS customers over LVLT with no customers. 3) Ironic that the CWA opposes a QWST buyout because it would reduce capital spending. Good call CWA 4) USW & FRO face a tough decision- Go with QWST with proven management, proven ability to execute, real assets (e.g., employees & systems), the world's most advanced fiber long-haul network (that's a reality not a vision), a stable, growing currency (when compared to GBLX), fantastic strategic partners, a vision & a willingness to upgrade your network to today's technology .... OR GBLX with 250 employees,...??? You make the call! 5) AOL has got to be slobbering all over itself. If QWST pulls this off, I can envision a call from Joe Nacchio to Steve Case "Talk to me, Steve. Let's do lunch. Bring lots of cash." 6) My only question to Joe Nacchio... How much will this upgrade cost?
