It was difficult to learn much from the Mandelbrot article in Sci Am. At least for me....

Mandelbrot's article is humorous, he rediscovered R N Elliot's work

Prechter had a special report were he pointed out that the hard sciences are now proving the fractal (self-similarity ) nature of the markets and Elliot wave is a description of the logrithmic and fractal nature of markets.
