- as an economist, I can tell you that this is great for MSFT

- just like the '73 OPEC crunch was a boon to Honda & Toyota

t2 re: cpq's woes are gains for other box makers...agree
entirely. when pfeifer "warned" near the eve of their last
earnings release i remember thinking "what are the odds
that a 40% downturn in demand is confined to one company?"
turns out it was pretty much the case.

so far cpq not a downer for the rest. if it weren't for
msft & aol's prospects cpq might be tempting at
some point...like $17
