Looks like CPQ is going to ruin the party!

I try not let my losses grow too much, even if that requires from time to time to jump back in when an uptrend is established and at higher prices.

An excellent strategy, of course. My approach is to (1) look for a value play (or write puts that would be at a value price if assigned), (2) start with a smaller position than I might otherwise have bought, and (3) add to the position if there is yet a further decline significantly below what I had thought was a value position in the first place.

As for IDTC, and as you've hinted at, it is difficult to value given the combination of its businesses, i.e., telecom + isp + internet. So I tend to look at this company in terms of its revenues, which are significant and growing (though I would like to see earnings growth as well). On a technical side, the 17-19 range has, several times now, offered some downside resistance. In combination, this leads me to believe that the company remains a value play at 19ish, and has the kind of upside potential that Morgan Stanley noted in its buy reiteration.
