BD Thanks for the response. Agree that OT posts are annoying and can be poor form. Below is an extract of an article from the Gorilla & King Thread (a particularly good thread by the way). Not the most incisive post, but of interest to those here. As far as JDS/UNPH being an Intel in this space, I'm not likely the most qualified to give an opinion. I tend to look at general trends and extrapolate out, likely as a way of getting around my less than complete understanding of the technology. I do believe that JDS/UNPH probably has the best shot of the optical "pure plays" which would include SDLI, Etek etc. Pat Mudge might take issue with that - she's a big believer in SDLI, although I know she likes both. I think one of the keys going forward is that JDS/UNPH seem to be quite complementary, probably moreso than in most mergers. Plus, the two big guys seem to be working off the same page. Someone alluded earlier to when the first joint products would surface. I would think they'll show up sooner rather than later, seems logical that they would have been working in the labs towards this for awhile now. Anyway, here's that post from G & K.
