It is probably much too much to hope for but today's bad news for iNTEL will not correlate with similar bad news for AMD. AMD may be executing flawlessly and show an upside earnings surprise (do not count on this.) AMD's 1st earnings warnings have historically come as late as the last few days of the quarter; also the down draught from iNTC shares can impact AMD shares. So far, this does not seem to be the case. The stocks should, in time decouple, if, indeed, AMD can show itself to be the source of iNTEL's woes and actually make money at the same time (do not count on this yet.)
