Thread, Does anyone know what the estimates are for SanDisk's Q2 earnings? Anyone want to have a pool to guess the actual number? My guess will probably be high, as I believe that all these design wins will start to pay off reasonably soon. (I think Q4 will be a big quarter.) Jim

Craig, now you've made me think about whether there is ANY market for the Microdrive. I think I know one - state driver license bureaus. For obtaining a new driver license or renewal, many states are adopting digital systems. Typically, an office stores digital images on hard disks and transmits them periodically to a central location. I can envision digital cameras in a driver license bureau making hundreds of pictures every day and then uploading the images to the central office at day's end. It would be economical to have enough storage for an entire day's images, necessitating only one upload per day. Other than that, I don't know of any situation that would preclude the use of flash memory.
