Teflon, you have an inbox at the top of the screen, whenever you're reading messages...if you get a new one, it shows up (instead of "0" there'll be "1", or "2" or however many messages there are. Click on "from" and you'll see the message--whether it was public or private. In your profile, which you can go in and change, perhaps you didn't enable private messages? If not, just do so Jill P.S.
