John,

You are probably one of the first people to realize how digital photography would impact the world of film photography. I suspect you purchased your camera as part of your realty business?

Seems like you got a lot of mileage out of the Kodak. I would consider stepping up into a Nikon Coolpix 950 and ordering a lens attachment for wide angle photos. Also, you will be able to recycle your CompactFlash cards as Nikon uses this format.

Personally, I am holding out for a 2+ megapixel SLR camera. You may be best off waiting a few months unless you have an uncontrollable urge to upgrade now.

I am interested to learn if Foveon's technology will make it to Joe and Jane Q. Public or whether the cost is prohibitive for such a "crude" application. The Forbes article indicates that the consumer market will be side-stepped altogether, thus limiting Foveon's growth to vertical market segments.
