Rory, I'm not familiar enough with the eBrokers to answer that. I'm really only willing to buy a few TWE because I use Waterhouse, and think they are pretty good compared to the others. The buy what you know and use approach.

Depends on your measurement metric. I think EGRP is #2 in number of trades per day, but Waterhouse is #2 in accounts and assets under management. In other words, EGRP has all the day traders, and Waterhouse has a more stable base, but a lot of Waterhouse account just let their money sit there (so lower commissions).

All of this information is in the Waterhouse S1 prospectus filing with the SEC. Anyone who is considering buying the IPO ought to read that.
