Joseph A. Smith Appointed Executive Vice President - Operations of Clariti Telecommunications International

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1999--Clariti Telecommunications International (OTC:CLRI) ("Clariti") today announced that it has appointed Joseph A. Smith to the newly created position of Executive Vice President - Operations and will serve as the Company's Chief Operations Executive.

Mr. Smith will be responsible for working with the Operating Units to build Clariti's operational excellence, execute its operational plans, and achieve the most effective integration across the Company's operating units.

In addition to his new role, Mr. Smith will also continue to retain the responsibilities he had as Executive Vice President of Telecom Ventures. Mr. Smith will report directly to Ron Grawert, Chief Executive Officer of Clariti.

Mr. Smith, age 44, joined Clariti as Executive Vice President of Telecom Ventures in February 1999. He has more than 20 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry including, over five years with Metromedia International (AMEX: MMG) where he most recently served as a Group Executive Vice President responsible for both paging and wireless local loop businesses in over 15 international countries. Prior to Metromedia, Mr. Smith was a Senior Executive Vice President at Metrocall where he directed the Company's US paging operations.
