Steeny:

Have you ever looked at the "Max-Pain" analysis of options:

ez-pnf.com

I track this info for the stocks I own as we get close to options expiry, it's surprising (or maybe not surprising) how frequently the large cap tech stocks close at or close to the point of maximum pain (for option holders) on options expiry day, absent some major market or individual stock moving event(s). I've occasionally tried a day day trade based on this analysis as options expiry approaches, so far with profitable results (4 gains, 1 loss).

I've E-mailed them a couple of times to ask them to include AOL on their list of analyzed stocks, no effect as yet. I have a continuing hope that I'll find some time to set up the analysis myself for AOL, since it's a stock I've owned and traded for almost three years, but it's a ton of calculation. If I could figure out some way to get the options data linked to a spreadsheet, it would be a breeze, just haven't had the time to work on it.

Any thoughts on the technique?
