MrGreenJeans re Greenspan comments: sounds like he decided that if the markets tumble soon while money is getting tight he can point to those quotes and say gee I couldn't have told you more clearly<g>

Mr. GreenJeans paraphrased Mr. Greenspan: "Should interest rates rise, markets would likely fall, he said."

But will they? If the rate gets hiked .25 at the end of the month markets will not likely fall, Mr. Market seems to be saying these days. Brinker said the odds favour a rate hike of .25 and there is a likelihood of the markets reaching new highs.

So, my Mr. Canoehead logic tells me: deflating the markets will require a series of perhaps three or more rate hikes to do the deed.

(Humm.... I wonder what the real identity of Mr. GreenJeans is?)
