If Ballard takes his vision of a "entertainment conpany" seriously,
we should see TDFX getting into the console market.

I see some advantages:

1) the console market would give additional revenues to game
developers at nearly zero additional costs

2) that could mean that game developers are more willing to support new V4-technology in addition to D3D, Glide and OpenGL

3) consumers could enjoy their games both on "father's PC" and on the "kid's console" - TDFX would be the only company that could offer that advantage (at least for some time)

4) TDFX's sale force could easily sell these products to existing customers with nearly no additional costs for TDFX

Have you tried the S-Video output on the Voodoo cards???? What do you think about 3Dfx acquiring better technology regarding the S-video outputs??? In terms of the cross platform products, I imagine that better technology in this area would better facilitate a linkage between the two platforms....
