Dog, Agreed on the complete waste of money and lives recently mandated by the present government's foreign policy in Kosovo... But your figure of $0.30 on the dollar for government-sponsored healthcare is exactly what we are getting now with privately managed HMO's and insurance company policies. 76% of the nation's healthcare budget goes to line the pockets of overly paid doctors, hospital administrator's, and above all, insurance companies. Meanwhile, over 50% of children who live below the poverty line have no or inadequate health care coverage. Something has to change...(and I agree, I'm not convinced the government alone is the answer...but certainly stronger regulation of the medical insurance industry ought to be considered). TC.
