MaoII: It seems to be taking a long time for the penny to drop - but I think you finally have it - yes I have fewer COMPAQ shares than you and your frat buddies from the butt-kicking club. I think "none" is "fewer", assuming you have "some". I will not give an undertaking that I will inform you in "real time" if I should change that situation. I have stated repeatedly since July, 1998 that I trade COMPAQ. I have never said that I buy it to hold it. I have also said that I do better at trading when a stock is in an uptrend - so I had a general belief that COMPAQ was in an uptrend in July and I thought it worth getting to know. Indeed, I did very well in the uptrend from July-January. Even when I got caught in the gap down from $41, I traded it to reduce my average price. I have said many times, the last time a day or so ago, that even after a gap down, at the bottom, there is good money to be made trading a few points at a time rather than waiting for it to rise to former highs. Sometimes such trades work, sometimes they don't. I think that is obvious. My Personal Profile states that I trade blocks aggressively. I have discussed this on the thread several times. I used to retire from posting on the board when I was out of COMPAQ, but I was asked back, repeatedly. I also PM with friends on this thread. I have never recommended anyone to buy or sell COMPAQ. The nearest I have come to it is to make the rhetorical point recently (when I myself was out of COMPAQ) that the logic of some negative posts is that the poster should sell at the Open or at any price. You say you find that disingenous - are you sure you understand the meaning of that word? My comments on COMPAQ are not authoritative - how could they be? I do not have the information of an EP, Rosen etc who have millions of shares and still get it wrong. I would characterise my contribution as trying to find out, and then trying to figure out what I have found out. I sometimes look at your comments on this and the Jimbo thread. Sometimes they are very witty, sometimes informative and wise and sometimes pompous and ludicrous. But it does not concern me that your words might affect what others do: caveat emptor !
