He could try editing the registry. Or...

I find that if you back up all your data and do a clean REFORMAT of the drive, then reinstall NT and reinstall all the applications, and reinstall all of the drivers fresh from scratch that it might work.

Sometimes you have to keep reinstalling windows several times before it clicks in solid. Ask any NT tech who's worked on it for a while and they will agree.

Blows away anyone who sees this; then I tell them that all (expandable)
Macs back to the original Mac II could do this - just pop in another card...

They use propriotory stuff in their machines; next time a wintel
person complains about non-standard parts in Macs, the PC world
isn't always so rosey in that respect.
