2MAR$ I find these plays through various methods...sometimes it's my own dd, sometimes I pick them up off some message boards I monitor, sometimes from emails sometimes from fellow investors and even some from pick lists. I tend to remember what I read...I always monitor the live news feed I get from my Level II package...If I see a company I am familiar with I usually check out the news and decide if it will move the stock...I also scan for "news with legs" regardless of whether or not I am familiar with the company, like that VALH blowout quarter from Tuesday. I usually do some quick DD, I look at the Level II immediately, noting the volume and seeing if fresh buying is coming in...are the MMs scrambling for shares? Then perhaps quick look at the stochastic chart...is it uptrending, can it go further? I check the messsage boards, the old news from the company etc... I can usually do a quickie round of dd within a minute or two...then, if I like it, I buy an initial position. Further and continuous dd will tell me to either: Buy more Sell immediately Sell for a small gain Hold and sell for 50%-100%+ gain Hold for a position trade Hold for a gap Etc... There are many plays that I do NOT post. I only try to post those that I feel are actively moving ("in play") or should be moving very soon...I suppose these are the MOMO types. Note, obviously I don't know everything about each of the stocks I might post. These plays can range from legitimate up and comers or turnarounds with solid fundamentals (like VALH) to even "pump and dumps," though I NEVER initiate a pump and dump myself. Each person has to decide what their risk tolerance is and make their own decision based on dd...I don't normally buy into something already up 80% as DCRG was today but I saw some great indicators on Level II that told me this one was going higher...
