Dowjoe, because I went there (in the '60s' when they still had a few apricot orchards in that general neighborhood). Sure, all biotech is risky but that's what makes it fun. Find some good science, coupled with shrewd management, and try to time things properly. Maybe I've just been lucky -- I watched Immunex do R&D for years, then jumped in just before Enbrel was approved and that's been a nice trip the past 18 months, up 300%. I think ICOS has got a good shot at producing substantial sales in the next 5 years.
