Putting the 'public' back in IPO Improvements have been made, more needed This part struck me - EC regulations, though vague and tough to interpret, have basically made it so management talks to no one except during the all-important road show, a series of pre-IPO marketing presentations given to institutional fund managers and analysts in numerous cities around the world. Road shows also cannot be broadcast or streamed over the Internet, even though the technology exists that would make it rather easy to do so. Members of the media, who could presumably pass on the relevant material, are also not allowed to attend. ipocentral.com
